Who we are

What the service is

Fairlead is a business-to-business introduction service: buyers describe an IT project, receive general written guidance, and are introduced to up to four independent IT providers ("partners") that our matching engine scores as the best fit. The service is free for buyers. Partners pay an identical flat annual subscription which buys eligibility to be matched — never rank.

Fairlead is an intermediary only. We are not a party to any contract between a buyer and a partner. Partners are independent businesses; we do not supervise, warrant or guarantee their work, pricing, availability or conduct. The advice we produce is general market guidance to help you evaluate providers — it is not professional, legal, financial or technical advice, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for your own due diligence.

As-is service, no warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of match scores or advice, or uninterrupted availability. Match scores are statistical estimates of fit, not promises of outcome.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is capped at the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim (for buyers, who pay nothing, this cap is £100). We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or any loss arising from your dealings with a partner or from decisions made in reliance on the guidance we provide. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud.

Your obligations

You agree to provide accurate information, to use the service only for genuine business purposes, and not to scrape, resell or misuse data from the site. Partners additionally agree that submitted case-study evidence is truthful; fabricated evidence is grounds for immediate termination without refund.

Partner subscriptions

Partner subscriptions run annually after the free trial period, at the flat fee published on the site at the time of renewal, identical for every partner in the same market. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may suspend or terminate partners who breach these terms or whose subscription lapses.

Ownership

© 2026 Dominic Simon Ward. The Fairlead name, mark, site content, design, matching methodology and software are our property or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual-property law. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. You may not reproduce or reuse site content without permission.

Changes and termination

We may update the service and these terms; the current version is always at this address, with the date above. We may withdraw or suspend the service at any time. Material changes to partner terms take effect at the next renewal.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law, and disputes are subject to the courts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain — without prejudice to any mandatory protections or jurisdiction rules that apply to you by law.
